On March 17, the China Trademark Association and Beijing Zhongbei Trademark and Patent Agency Co., Ltd. jointly submitted a written third-party opinion to the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) under Article 41 of the European Community Trademark Regulation, requesting the revocation of EU trademarks No. 004631305 and No. 004631966, both of which are "not made in china" marks.
In May, Beijing Zhongbei Intellectual Property Agency Co., Ltd. sent personnel to Toronto, Canada to attend the 128th INTA Annual Meeting.
On September 11, the EUIPO issued a final decision rejecting the trademark application to Alberto Company on the grounds that "trademarks that violate public order and morality shall not be registered".
On October 31, Beijing Zhongbei Trademark and Patent Agency Co., Ltd. changed its name to Beijing Zhongbei Intellectual Property Agency Co., Ltd.
